Here you have the posibility to nominate your site for the NEW Spock´s Mind Award Of Excellence. Please read all criterias carefully. There are three gradations: Gold, Silver & Bronce. Every award is given out with its own ID. So don´t try to copy it. The Vulcan Rose is a very special award and you cannot apply for this award. It is given out to sites that impress me in the one or other way. There are no criterias for this award. Winners of this award are also listed in the winners area.

Spock´s Mind Awards are given out to honour other sites for their hard work. Therefore, the criterias are high. If you nominated your site and you didn´t win an award you can nominate your site again 3 month later. The same is for new nominations, for silver & bronce winners. Your site is submitted, now what? Have look at the nomination list, HERE. There you can see, which site is nominated, which site is rejected. HERE you will find all past winners and HERE all winners of the "old" award. Now please read carefully all other criterias. 

General Criterias

Which site can apply?

First of all  Science Fiction Sites, but also any non commercial site

 

Why was my site rejected immediately?

1) Site is commercial

2) Site is giving out awards, but there is no winner list

3) Site has won other awards, but does present them in a bad way, without laudatio, without link

4) Site has illegal, pornographic, racistic content

5) Site has no Disclaimer/Imprint, only if necessary

6) Site loads, loads, loads....is still loading after 4 minutes.

The four main criterias

1) Site Idea

You can get up to 10 points for the site idea. The idea is the site "history". For example: A General Star Trek site (Includes Download Sites an pure Information Resources) can earn a maximum of 5 points here, because there are many of these sites to visit. A lyric page for example could earn more points, dependig on the presentation and content. Also a Star Trek Site with special content, for example FanClubs...

2) Site Design

You can get up to 50 points for your site design. Main criteria is the originality=idea & presentation (10) and the graphical presentation (20), Navigation (5), Site Structure (5), Use of Colour, fonts and techniques like flash, html, java...(10). There´s no difference if your site contains flash or just html. It depends on your hard work and if I can see it. For example: A site design containing of blinking gifs and bad quality graphics will earn less points. A good flash site or a brilliant html site with a unique presentation or a good allocation will earn many points. Come on and show me the wide range and possibility of a unique site design. :)

3) Site Content

You can get up to 30 points for your site content, based on the site theme. I value the presentation (10), content made by yourself (10) and the variety of content (10). For example: A Star Trek site, containig just biographies, episode guides and links will get a low ranking. Sites with a great database or with interactive contents will get a high ranking.

There are pluses for unique site content. You can get up to 10 extra points  for very unique content. Example: Interactive sites, or sites with "own" content like FanFiction or games.....There must be something special, to get these extra points.

4)My personal impression

There always is a first impression when you visit a site for the first time. :) This impression can be good, neutral or bad. You will get up to 10 points for this "impression-factor". So, now go on and impress me. :)

The following things can cause points of minus:

1) Right clicking suppression

2) Unfinished sites

3) Dead links/graphics

4) to much banners/popups

 

Possible points: 100 + 10 Extra Points.

91-110 Points ++ Gold

081-090 Points ++ Silver

065-080 POints ++ Bronce
